| My studio is situated in the small fellside village of Blencarn in the beautiful
Eden Valley in Cumbria. Much of my work is made in response to the landscape
and to plants within the landscape and is concerned with combining the immediacy
of painted marks with layering and textures to suggest, rather than precisely describe
an image. I work mostly in oils and printmaking, using both stone and plate lithography
as well as carborundum etching - methods of printing which allow images to evolve
and build up from a series of drawings. |
